Décor Ceramics – Tall Temple Jar (with lugs)

Temple jars traditionally have a protrusion or some kind of decoration on the top (small lugs around the rim) and a fishtail shape. Originally used to house the ashes of loved ones, they have been widely used to hold spices, herbs and salts. Tall and classically proportioned, it can be planted with a standard topiary or placed in the garden as an object ‘d art.
Earthenware clay product treated to high temperatures in wood-fired kilns to produce durable and beautiful glazed finishes that transform the jar into a frost proof garden colour feature. Hand-made, so the subtle variations of colour and form provide a degree of uniqueness for each piece. Indoor or outdoor use. Easily converted to a water feature.

After searching for a suitable water feature for our new home for the best part of three years, we had a good sense of what ambience we wanted to create. I happened upon the Gardener’s Emporium website and was attracted to a three-tier fountain in an antique bronze finish. Auckland is a long way from Wanaka but after talking to Rachel and sending her photos of our courtyard, I felt encouraged that this might be what we’d been looking for. We took measurements and even asked a good friend who has impeccable taste and who knows our house well to check the size and quality of the product. She loved it. We were nervous about the shipping, but Rachel is the most hands-on supplier I’ve ever dealt with. She scrupulously attended to every detail, ensuring the fountain was meticulously boxed and packaged, then shipped with the most reputable furniture removal company she could find. Rachel and Stu were in communication over the crating and delivery on a daily basis, ensuring that we knew how to have the fountain assembled and installed by sending us videos of installation and careful instructions. On the day it was installed, Rachel was on standby at the other end of the phone in case we had any questions. Fantastic service and we are delighted; the fountain is a perfect size for our space, as Rachel said it would be, and the workmanship and materials are of top quality.

Being in Real Estate and viewing many homes, I know the secret to creating a lasting impression is through landscape design. When looking for planters that were unique and offered a wow factor that you don’t find in the major homeware department stores I was so delighted to come across the Gardeners Emporium website. They have such an awesome range with great photos and helpful product details, including sizes, colours and pricing. Right from my first email communication with Rachel I was very impressed with her prompt response and the subsequent lengths Rachel was prepared to go to ensure I was getting exactly the special planters I was after. Because the planters were being imported Rachel was very proactive in keeping me regularly updated with the expected delivery timeframes. Through some very clever and robust packaging Rachel significantly reduced the freight costs and when we took delivery of 4 large planters in Dunedin they were in perfect condition. We had been looking for many months without success for a suitable pot to use as a water feature in our front garden. Fortunately we came across the Gardeners Emporium site purely by accident and saw a pot we liked. We emailed Rachel straight away and asked if we could come and view it. The Pietro Sphere Fountain is a main feature in my garden that can be viewed from all areas providing an ambience of tranquility. When Gardeners Emporium started up I decided to have an online browse & immediately found the Pietro Angel.....the most beautiful reflective & unique statue.
